Nazarbayev Centre is the archive and library of Kazakhstan's President, located just off the central axis between the Presidential Palace and the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. A glass oculus spans 90 metres, with views towards the Presidential Palace and gardens, and rises from the middle of a formal landscaped garden. There is a shallow dome-shaped glazed roof that is supported by a steel frame and steel ring beam. A 6,500 m2 double glazed single layer skylight in spherical form is installed on a 90m diameter circular building with a 20-degree slope. The steel member sizes are only 300x200mm.
